Alicudi Marriage Index 1820-1910
The Alicudi marriage index covers the period 1820-1910. These can be separated into two parts.
The first is the period between 1820-1865. All marriages for Isole Eolie were registered in Lipari and do not specifically state where they married. I have indexed those who are said to have been born on Alicudi so there might be a couple of them who were born on Alicudi but might not have married there.
For the period 1866-1910, Alicudi marriages are recorded separately. There are also quite a few years where marriage certificates are missing. These I have sourced from the Lipari parish marriages microfilm 1338517 Items 5-6 (1853-1881) (FamilySearch) where I could determine they were from Alicudi.
So for the period 1853-1881 there will be duplicate entries for some couples having both a civil and a parish marriage date, which may, but not necessarily, be the same.
From a marriage date perspective, some marriage certificates prior to 1866 do not state the marriage date; they only have the date the record was written up. These I have shown with the letter ‘R’ indicating it’s the record date. Parish dates have their folio =’f.’ number referenced.
Years covered in the Index: 1820 – 1910
Years Missing from the Stato Civile Records available on ‘Antenati’ and ‘FamilySearch’: 1821-1823, 1852, 1867-1880, 1883, 1886-1887, 1893, 1898-1900, 1904
Number of years recovered from the parish records = 11 (various years between 1853-1881)
